On November 7, 2008 Lisa and Dylan represented the Reece Center at the Special Olympics State Horse Show for the fourth year in a row.

Dylan and Lisa worked many long hours throughout the year, through heat, wind and cold to practice for this show. The pracitced not only at The Reece Center, but had to put in extra time at home learning their patterns as well.

Both athletes stretched themselves this year. They not only competed in the same classes as in previous years, showmanship, trail and equitation, they also both showed in Futures this year as well. Futures is the first step for each of them towards learning dressage. We could not be more proud of them.

The medals and ribbons added up this year in a big way. Between them both, Lisa and Dylan brought home one gold, four silvers, a fourth place and two fifth places. The did spectacularly.

We also added a new horse to our Special Olympics line up this year, Casper. Casper and Dylan did an oustanding job for their first time showing together.

Thank you to all the wonderful parents and volunteers that helped to make this possible for our athletes and make it such a wonderful weekend for everyone.
