The Reece Center was founded in 1984 by a group of people with one goal - connect people with disabilities with horses and help those people see their abilities. Never in their wildest dreams did they imagine how well that would work!
Today the Reece Center continues to go strong using the power of the horse to help children and adults in the Atlanta area see the possibilities. Our all volunteer staff are dedicated to helping our riders strengthen their bodies and their minds through interaction with and riding horses.
Equine assisted therapy helps to strengthen core, leg and arm muscles. It helps with gross and fine motor skills, communication, speech and socialization.
At The Reece Center, we believe in the strength of the horse to help strengthen the rider. Our volunteers help our riders focus on their abilities, even if just for a little while, not their disabilities.
We are a family at The Reece Center. Our riders, their families, our volunteers, supporters and donors all make up The Reece Center family. We cheer each other on and lift each other up. We invite you to be a part of our family!
We'll see you at the barn!
